The Doctor cheerfully and in great detail explained to Jack his position on the superiority of the banana to the dreaded pear as they strolled down the ramp from the visitor's centre. He waved hello to Toshiko, but didn't stop talking until he caught sight of Owen walking towards them. Then he came to an abrupt halt and stared at the young doctor with alarm.
"Oh, my, " he said. "Oh, dear. Jack, I didn't know you had zombies on staff now. That's a bit much, isn't it, even for Torchwood?"
"Oi!" Owen said casually as he passed them, his eyes on the sheaf of papers in his hands. "We do not use the 'Z' word around here. Remember that."
The Doctor looked to Jack for an explanation, but his friend just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "We believe in workforce diversity, but it sounds like you could use a seminar on tolerance, Doctor."
